Some days/

I run into myself/

Like  a character in the old cartoons/

bang into the wall of me/

my stuff is impenetrable/

and I bounce off of it/

unable to budge or break through/

lately I see it happening/

feel the familiar bruising/

say to myself this is what you do darling/

you eat yourself alive/

you work too hard and eat your liver/

knowing that like some mythic/

small god of fire/

you will burn and brood/

and get up to go at the wall/

all over again/

tomorrow/

lately I see myself strafing myself/

just learning/

I gentle the day/

wherever I can/

I tell the truth as serenely as possible/

chuckle without shame/

silly silly girl/

feeling the long brushstrokes/

down the hair of yesteryear/

darling girl/

life is always/

always/

a gentle inside job

What if?

drives me

not to drink

to brood

to fume

to anticipate

failure

exhaustion

sorrow

the automatic negatives

eclipse the positives

through no fault

i find a no-fault faith answer

through no fault

faith

i learn that

no one was ever to blame exactly

when I was taught fear and shame

by being frightened and shamed

it was inadvertent

was a by product of being busy

frightened in their own right

overwhelmed

when my little fragile light was told to

hide

censor

and existential fear said

gotcha

but my no-fault faith

better than any insurance you can buy

get out of jail for free card

perpetual

perennial

pleasingly invites

to a life of lightness after the harshest

voice is sent on an all expense

tropical vacation

all inclusive

have a nice time

I sure will

be kind

that’s how we live

now

another change event/
by letting you seep your light/
into our despairing/
merciless preoccupations/
we are like frightened/

Sometimes the contrast of life and death Evil and good Defies imagining burrows deeply Becomes a primary pain predicament A chronic illness of despair I have seen and been to the trapped and nullified stasis chamber life becomes anger turned inward and trapped paralyzed Yet this I recollect and reel back to mind God’s healing is hard wired into us at the sub-cellular level at the speed faster…
