I have wondered/

where visceral fear is engendered/

what starts it sprouting/

lurking as a baseline/

like breath we just breathe/

and suddenly we may notice/

each breath/

fear is like that/

ubiquitous/

suddenly breaking the surface/

but I have wondered/

where it was learned so utterly/

perhaps the efforts of big people/

to get little people/

under control/

in line/

like smart little soldiers/

perhaps/

it started there in the land of /

giants/

among those who summoned us here/

for the sole purpose/

to be loved/
