Just as there are jaws of life
to peel the wreckage open
and set the captive free
there are jaws of death
to strap devoured
bodies to boards of steel
swim the thousand eyes through
flesh
declare sentence or reprieve
justice irrelevant
justice irreverent
jaws of light
shall
swing open
someday
some far far day
when we exit to enter
the light
